The girl on the train. Gripping, super jumpy and kept me up all night reading it.
The book centres around Rachel, the stories main protagonist and her journey every day too and from "work" ( I don't want to include spoilers!) When Rachel gets the same commuter train every day, the train stops at the same light allowing her to gaze into the row of houses near the tracks. She is especially interested in one particular couple, who she calls Jess and Jason, and even starts to feel like she knows them. However one day she witnesses something that changes the course of her life forever.The girl on the train is Hawkins debut psychological thriller, and if you liked Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn, 2012) then you'll love this. The book, which is soon to be released as a film by Dreamworks, feels like Alred Hitchcock, but for the millennial generation.
The book is told from the narrative of the three, somewhat unreliable, lead female characters, which means you can never quite tell what's going on, who is telling the truth, or who to trust. A true can't-put-down thriller.
